First of all I would like to say gratitude to God that the Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University eventually published the newest edition of the English Profile’s Book. I hope that this book provide enough information of each department, facility, and study program such as the achievement, academic activities and also graduate’s prospect in a global market.The Faculty of Engineering consists of 12 departments and study programs as an undergraduate program (Civil Engineering, Architecture Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Naval Architecture Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geodetically Engineering, Computer System (the new study program)). Faculty of Engineering also has 7 vocational programs (Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning Engineering) and 3 collaboration programs with the Indonesia’s Minister of Public Works Department (LPPU). Beside that, the Faculty of Engineering also has offered the master program (Master of Architecture, Master of Civil Engineering, Master of Urban and Regional Planning, Master of Mechanical Engineering and Master of Chemical Engineering) and doctoral program (Doctor of Civil Engineering and Doctor of Architecture and Regional Planning).
The campus is located in 180 ha Tembalang district, southern part of the City of Semarang in Central Java. Until the beginning of 2009 the Faculty of Engineering has graduated 24.090 students with 16.595 undergraduate’s students, 174 master’s students collaboration with the Indonesia’s Minister of Public Works Department, 4761 vocational graduates and 2.560 vocational graduates collaboration of Engineering Faculty with the Indonesia’s Minister of Public Works Department.
The faculty’s academic and administration system became more efficient and effective since we built the Faculty’s Information System on April 2005 which is based on the Internet and Local Area Network (LAN) as well. According to the assessment of the international collaboration between the Times Higher Education Supplement of The Times magazine and QS about the Best Faculty of Engineering in a world, the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP was ranked 440 of the World Class Engineering Faculty
With high commitment to produce high quality engineers in its field, the faculty is widely open every opportunity of mutual cooperation with other institution either domestic or abroad. Emphasizing in coastal eco-development we also consistently develop the research, education, and community services in a particular interest
Finally I hope that this book will be useful to look closer what inside of Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University and it will also encourage the students either from Indonesia or abroad to study and experiencing higher engineering education in Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University.
