As has become imperative turning needle history, the establishment of higher education through a dynamic and always uphill battle, no difference with the Faculty of Engineering, University of Diponegoro. Starting from the crystallization of ideas which became a major idea from some engineers like Ir. Jacob Rais (Chief of the Land Registration Office Semarang), and Ir. Gunawan, Prof.. Ir Soemarman (alm), Ir. Subarkah, Ir. R. Hwie Djwee Oei, Ir. R. Soenardi (alm), Ir. Lie Gwan Kok, Ir. Moeljadi, and Ir. Tjoa Tjeng Kie, to establish a technical institution of higher education in the city of Semarang. On October 20, 1958, supported entirely by local governments and the various elements of society, the plan is realized with the opening of the College of Engineering at the University of Semarang who had stood since January 9, 1957. At the third anniversary date of Dies Natalis 09 Januari 1960. Indonesia's first president Repulik. Ir. Soekarno rename manjadi University of Diponegoro University Semarang. and on October 15, 1960 Academy of Engineering was changed to Faculty of Engineering with first Dean, Prof., Ir, Soemarman. Department of Civil Engineering was the first department in the Faculty of Engineering of Diponegoro University opened before any other department.
Lectures in the afternoon to borrow a building around Tugu Muda (currently a House of Peace building), then moved the street MT. Haryono No. Pepekuper Territory's 427 IV, as a college. On a more settled period of Faculty of Engineering moved to "The White House" on Campus Pleburan / Jl. Hayam Wuruk. Later in the year 1996 until the present campus of Diponegoro University Faculty of Engineering moved to Tembalang, the start was built through the Six Universities Development and Rehabilitation Sub-Sector Project (SUDR).
Since the University of Diponegoro was inaugurated as the college on October 15, 1960, Faculty of Engineering as a printer of human resources quality, continue to develop themselves by establishing the Department / Study Program required by the community. - Department of Civil Engineering
Civil Department is the first department in the Faculty of Engineering, who stood together with the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering of Diponegoro University, the Chairman of the Department and concurrently the first Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof.. Ir. Soemarman. Civil Engineering Department is accredited through SK BAN A Higher Education No. 021/BAN-PT/Ak-VII/S1/VI/2004. In the year 1997 gave birth to the Civil Engineering Department Civil Engineering Master Program (S2, and in June 2004 gave birth to the opening part of Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering (S3). - Department of Architecture
In the year 1962 opened with the Department of Architecture Department Chair first held by Ir. Sidhartha (Prof. Ir. Sidhartha (alm), who has retired). A Department of Architecture, accredited by SK BAN-PT No.. 028/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S1/XI/2007 on 26-November-2007. Department of Architecture, also initiated the opening of Architectural Engineering Master Program (S2) in 1998, and together the Department of City and Regional Development in 2004 also established a Doctoral Program of Architecture and Urbanism (PDTAP). - Department of Chemical Engineering
In the year 1965 opened with the Department of Chemical Engineering Head of Department first held by Ir. Nisyamhuri (already retired). On 12 September 2003 the Department of Chemical Engineering has been accredited by SK A BAN-PT No.. 029/BAN-PT/Ak-XI/S1/XI/2008. In the year 2005 also opened the Chemical Engineering Master Program (S2). - Department of Mathematics
In 1969 the Faculty of Engineering Department of Mathematics opening. Once established and producing many graduates, the starting year 1988 Department of Mathematics is no longer shelter under the Faculty of Engineering, and separated into a single Department of Science and Mathematics Management Agency (Mathematics and Natural Sciences) is now a Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. - Department of Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering courses opened in 1983 by the Rector Decree Undip, followed by Director General of Higher Education Decree No. 43/DIKTI/KEP/1984 dated August 21, 1984, the first Head of Study Program is Ir. Slamet Waluyo (deceased). Mechanical Engineering Study Program to the Department of Mechanical Engineering and SK DIKTI DG. No.78/DIKTI/Kep/1998. Department of Mechanical Engineering on May 23, 2009 A has obtained accreditation through SK BAN-PT No.. 010/BAN-PT/Ak-VII/S1/XI/2009. In the year 2007 the Department of Mechanical Engineering has opened a Master's Degree Program in Mechanical Engineering (S2). - Department of Electrical Engineering
Based on the Rector's decision in 1983 opened in Electrical Engineering Program and established by the Director General of Higher Education No.47/DIKTI/Kep/1986 decision dated September 26, 1986, with Chairman Program's first study is Ir. Adi Wardoyo (PLN-Central Java). Electrical Engineering Study Program to the Department of Electrical Engineering, with the Director General SK DIKTI No.82/DIKTI/KEP/1999. Department of Electrical Engineering is accredited by SK A BAN-PT No.. 029/BAN-PT/Ak-XI/S1/XI/2008 on November 13, 2008. - Department of Urban and Regional Planning
Engineering Program and the City Planning Wiliyah opened in 1992 with the Decree No.43/DIKTI/Kep/1992 Director General of Higher Education March 18, 1992. Chairman of the Program is the first study Dr.Ir.Soegiono Soetomo, DEA (now Professor. Dr.Ir. Soegiono Soetomo, DEA). This course turned into the Department of Regional and City Planning, the Director General SK DIKTI N. 79/DIKTI/Kep/1999. Department of Regional and City Planning accredited by SK A BAN-PT No.. 033/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S1/I/2008 on January 18, 2008. This Department of Master of Engineering program to develop City Development (MTPK) in 1999. In the year 2006 the program expanded again Modular System Master S2 Regional and City Planning in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works. - Department of Industrial Engineering
Beginning in 1998 opened the Industrial Engineering Program established by the Decree of Director General of Higher Education No.51/DIKTI/KEP/1998 date 23 February 1998. Starting the school year 1999/2000 Environmental Engineering Program accepting new students. Environmental Engineering Program was officially opened in 1999 with the Decree No.377/DIKTI/KEP/1998 Director General of Higher Education October 21, 1998, with the first Head of Study Program is: Ir. In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 0312/0/1991 dated June 6, 1991 on Closing and Integration of Non-Degree Faculty within the University and the Institute, then in the academic year 1992/1993 carried Diploma III integration with Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In addition to the diploma program in 1976 also developed Diploma Program-III-IV and Diploma in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works, and the Cross Channel program started in 1981, and the Master Program in Regional and City Planning regular, and the Master Program Regional and City Planning at the Modular System 2006.
